Algebraic relationships are usually expressed explicitly in the form y=f(x) and differentiated directly.
However, sometimes it's not always easy to isolate the x terms and the mixture of x and y terms gives rise to an implicit relationship.
The example below illustrates how to approach the differentiation of an implicit function.
